Jewellery For Fmx Riders
Posted by Extreme Motion on Aug.09, 2011, under Uncategorized No Comments
Jewellery For Fmx Riders
Jewellery is rarely worn when the rider is racing on the circuit, but off circuit you can sport cool and funky earrings, rings, necklaces, pendants, etc. Jewellery is available in different materials, like silver plated, bronze, solid silver, gold and even diamond studded, for that extra “bling” factor.
Let’s take a look at some of the styles that are making waves on the racing circuit for both men and women.
Chains
For men, chains can be made from solid silver or gold as per your choice. Chains that have a plaited look or are chunky look very cool and can be worn at any length, like worn short, closer to the neck, or long, almost touching your mid riff. You can even be innovative and find chains that resemble the ones on your bike. Now that will definitely be asked about. Girls can opt for thinner and prettier chains. They can even be filigree chains that don’t need a pendant.
Rings
Rings made of solid silver look really cool and funky. They can be inscribed with the letters FMX or can even be carved to look very interesting. If you are going to wear more than one ring on your hand, make sure that you wear thin rings as opposed to chunky, thick rings so it does not look like an overkill of silver. Rings and pendants can be from a set so it looks even cooler. Guys like wearing different figures, like skulls and crosses, on their rings to add some character. Girl’s rings are way more delicate and can sport precious stones as well. Some silver rings look fabulous with semi-precious coloured stones, too.
Pendants
Large chunky pendants make a bold and unique statement. Guys like to sport more masculine pendants, like skulls, crosses, favourite brands, etc. Girls can opt for smaller, less chunky, but prettier pendants. Both can wear pendants studded with stones to make a “shiny” statement. Diamonds are a hot favourite this season on the circuit, may they be the regular white ones or the more interesting black diamonds.
Earrings
Both guys and girls have ear piercings today. Small earrings, like studs, can even be worn under the helmet without it being an obstruction. Earrings need to be casual and funky to go along with the motocross clothing, which is very laid back and has a relaxed feel.

Eight Ways to Enjoy Yourself on the Water

Eight Ways to Enjoy Yourself on the Water
Article by Janette Vince
Throughout the centuries, human beings have loved the water. Water has fed us, cleaned us, quenched our thirst, and given us a convenient highway since long before there were real highways–indeed, for as long as our species has been alive. We’ve built most of our major cities near rivers, oceans, or lakes. We compose poetry and songs about the ocean, write stories about adventuring on mighty rivers while floating on nothing but tiny rafts, and build expensive waterfront properties so we can live next to water year-round. We’ve devised thousands of ways to travel, play, and live off-land. Following are just a few ways we’ve come up with for experiencing the thrill and joy of being out on the open water.
Yachts. Nothing compares to the elegance of a yacht. Powered by wind–the ancient engine that Polynesian wayfarers used to populate the far-flung islands of the Pacific, Viking explorers used to discover Greenland, and Magellan used to circumnavigate the globe–a yacht will take you where you’re going, and make you feel like a king or queen while you’re en route. Lots of yachting companies offer trips that involve fine wine, gourmet food, and a luxury experience.
Powerboats. Couple the thrill of being out on the water with the excitement of high speeds, and you’ve pretty much summed up a trip on a powerboat. We love skimming across the glassy surface of a lake or riding the waves, the wind scraping the hair back from our faces, the sun shining down on the surface of the water. The best powerboats are like convertible sports cars on water–an unbeatably thrilling experience.
Windsurfing. For centuries humans have been harnessing the power of wind to navigate on the water. But windsurfing is a relatively new invention that involves balance, strength, and timing. Windsurfing gives you more range than a surfboard–you can traverse wide lakes with no waves or perform daredevil stunts in the surf, depending on your style and that of your board. It takes practice, but it’s a sport that’s growing in popularity worldwide.
Kitesurfing. Similar to windsurfing, except the “sail” is really a kite–located at the end of a rope instead of attached to your board. Kitesurfing is a fun and challenging sport that requires some coordination to do well–you need to be able to guide both the kite in your hands and the board that’s strapped to your feet. The sport has become far safer and more accessible to beginners due to recent advances in kitesurfing technology.
Zapcats. Never heard of these? You’ve been missing out. Zapcats are small, motor-powered catamarans that can move at thrilling speeds and turn on a dime. They’ve got the speed of a powerboat and the flexibility of a jet ski–an undeniably exciting combination. Most rentals will usually send an instructor out with you, like they will with a powerboat. A zapcat ride is much more hands-on than the typical powerboat ride, however, because both parties are needed to steer the craft. They’re a blast to race in aquatic obstacle courses.
White water rafting. Even if strong currents and big waves make you nervous, white-water rafting is a fun and amazing experience that will give you confidence on the water. Most white-water rafting companies will send you out with an experienced guide and in a durable craft specially designed to handle the rigors of the rapids–so you’re perfectly safe. It’s a fun and thrilling way to experience the power of nature firsthand. Because of the size of the crafts and its accessibility to all levels of ability, it’s also an ideal way to bring a group together. White-water rafting is an ideal activity for an office outing or family trip.
Rapid running. You’d think this sport would be better for people who are more experienced in white-water rafting–but actually, it’s popular with all ability-levels. With rapid-running, you get your own inflatable two-person craft, and are sent without a guide down a rapids course. You’re prepared beforehand, of course–most companies that offer rapid-running activities will include a course on how to navigate the rapids safely. It’s a lesser-known but no-less-fun variety of white-water rafting, perfect for those who like a little more autonomy in their boats or who just want to try something a little different than the typical white-water rafting trip.
Jet skiing. It’s been described as a motorcycle on water. Jet skis are one-person watercraft that accelerates with a throttle in the handle. They’re very flexible, with the ability to accelerate quickly and make sharp turns. Jet ski tours of bays, rivers, and otherwise-inaccessible islands are becoming popular tourist activities in locations near water.
Whether you prefer relaxing yacht cruises, heart-pounding motorboat rides, the hands-on excitement of white water, or the balance and skill of wind or kitesurfing, there’s sure to be a water activity you’ll love. Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try something new–you may find more than one activity you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Off Road Safety Gear for Your Child

Off Road Safety Gear for Your Child
Your child’s life is precious to you. You have worked hard to get him/her where he/she is today. Some of you have worked two jobs, long hours, given your money, time and talents on the sports fields, cheer leading, football, soccer, Little League, basketball, and hockey, served as Scout Leaders, taught Sunday Schools, and supported school and parent organizations. This list does not touch the hours, sweat, tears and worry you have in this child. Now he has his first motorized vehicle. How can you protect him as he embraces “man and machine?” We can help you at http://www.agelessparlor.com Your child’s safety is important to us.
Riding machines mastery becomes boy, girl against machine and elements. They are more than a fun toy. They are serious fun and must be treated as such. They are dangerous to your child’s life. If this machine is your passion or your child’s passion, get prepared with the best safety precautions out there.
The first thing to consider is your child’s head. Protect his head with a good sound quality DOT* Motocross helmet with a good fit.
How to find his size? Please use a cloth tape to take your measurement. It is better to have a helper do the measuring in order to get a more accurate measurement. The circumference of the head should be measured at a point approximately one inch above the eyebrows, or at whatever point gives the largest possible measurement. If you find that your measurement falls between two sizes, choose the smaller size.
A proper fitting DOT* helmet is critical to the comfort and enjoyment of your helmet. It also plays a critical role in the performance of your helmet in the event of a collision.
Never or wear a motorcycle, motocross helmet without making sure you have a proper snug fit (not too tight, and not too loose – just right!) There are several methods and tricks to size a motorcycle helmet. We recommend the following method:
]]>
A. Measure: Consult sizing chart for that brand. Different brands have different charts.
B. Not too tight: Once you have the new motocross helmet in hand, put the helmet on by grasping the sides in each hand and pulling it on over your ears until you feel the top portion of the helmet touch. Check for the following red flags: A. The helmet immediately feels too tight. B. Your head does not touch the top of the motorcycle helmet. C. You can’t pull the helmet down over your ears. D. It’s painful in any way. If any of these apply, you probably need the next size larger.
C. Not too loose: Once you have found a helmet that feels comfortable and snug, you must make sure that it is not too loose. To do this, securely fasten the chin
strap, grasp the helmet chin bar or sides firmly with one hand and try to move the helmet from side to side and up and down. If the helmet slides on your skin and hair, it is too large. If your scalp and skin want to move with the helmet, the fit is about right.
D. Just Right: One final check. Reach back to the back of the helmet and try to rotate the helmet as far down and forward as possible. Then do the same as far backward as possible. If the helmet feels as if it might slide off in either direction, the helmet is either too big or the chin strap was not securely fastened.
Congratulations! If you passed these tests, you now have a properly fitting helmet that will maximize safety and minimize wind noise as well! Check out our sizing charts http://www.agelessparlor.com/sizing_charts_for_leather.htm
The next thing to consider is your child’s eyes. Buy goggles. Protect your child’s eyes. We offer a free pair of goggles with each motocross youth helmet purchased. We feel that strongly about this safety feature. Goggles should have an adjustable strap, have an optical quality that promotes distortion free lens with slopes to reduce glare. Meet or exceeds Z87.1-68 requirements set forth by OSHA for safety.
Another Important thing to consider is your child’s chest. Chest protectors are a must to protect your child’s chest from limbs and flying rocks. We sell a quality line of chest protectors in today’s new light weight designs. Check out our new fun site: http://helmetsforfun.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=11&zenid=0016e8495025bb15a9bd255e3c695738 Our chest protectors are made of high impact resistant polycarbonante and provides a high level of comfort and protection. Last and not least protect your child with a good machine. Be sure this is a fine tuned well running machine. No Matter your choice, dirt bike, ATV, Snowmobile, used, new or rented, make sure this machine has been checked out by a qualified mechanic.
You’ve done what you can. You have outfitted him in the best gear, You had the machine checked out. You gave him the rules you can live by and the consequences for the breaking of those rules. You’ve taught him to respect other’s property and ask before he rides on someone else’s land or woods. Now the challenge is to let him go try to master the machine. He can!
