A fella does his first free fall and his parachute fails, after he gets his reserve going he then crashes into pylon wires, lmfao

Scott wasn’t one of the unluckiest guys around.
In fact he is one of the luckiest, but also stupidest guys that I have ever seen.
He is one of the morons that give the sport a bad reputation, and proves that complete idiots should never go skydiving.

first of all. hes dumb for pulling his cutaway handle instead of throwing his pilot chute. everything did what it was supposed to do and i agree with kstar and everyone else. he could have avoided the powerlines. AFF Cat A: Fail. if at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you.

His parachute DID NOT malfunction. It did exactly what it was designed to do. He initially pulled his cutaway handle, which releases the main. That’s why you see it flying away when the instructor pulls. There is no excuse for hitting the power lines. He had plenty of time to turn and avoid them

his main ripped away because instead of grabbing his ripcord he grabbed his main cut away handle (0:26), so when the chute was finally deployed it went bye bye…not paying attention during class were we? during class they also teach you how to turn so you dont do stuff like hit powerlines. everything that went wrong was because he didnt pay attention to the instructors
