@furryhampster – It is important that you load off the tail to create pop. The full ollie is the way to generate the most pop but can be a little tricky when first learning your spins.
@TheRoastedPeanut they are all kinda expensive, i suggest you buy your equipment right when snowboarding season ends, but if your a kid or teenager make sure you buy your equipment a little bigger than usual, cause trust me, you will grow.
Hey Doug,
When you do anytype of spins 180s 360s etc. is it better to just pop off the jump or do an ollie? Or is it all in the preference of the rider?
thanks
Started boarding late this season (switched from skiis) I was hoping to buy some decent equipment for the start of 2011-2012 season, I’d like to do park and jumps next year so which inexpensive board/binding/boots do you recommend?
@FantaUkelele – Air comes from having the correct speed and using pop. I recommend learning to ride switch first so that you can land and ride away from the jump.
I noticed when I throw my frontsides (especially throw them off the toes), I can get a lot of amplitude out of my ollie. However, I always land the new tail (fakie nose) and kind of press it out. But on my backsides, I land much more evenly but I can’t get the same amplitude out of my nollie/ollie. Why is this?

@TheRoastedPeanut – The Sierra Stunt and Sierra/Rome S90 Bindings are a good choice to get you started.

@cane5461 – Ideally you should be able to link switch turns on blue runs before doing 180s on jumps.

@rlclark50 – You need to make sure that you are not shifting your stance back when jumping off the toes frontside.
