“Know A Kid with ADHD? Get the Facts About Kids With ADHD and Sports”
Article by Scott Becker
ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurobehavioral based disorder that can be found in adults as well as children. However, it is most commonly only diagnosed in young children. The main symptoms are hyperactivity, as well as the inability to pay attention, mood swings and aggression.
Kids with ADHD often times find it difficult to get involved in sports. Many sports require the ability to completely concentrate and stay focused. As well, certain sports may require that the child remain calm and quiet in many instances. However there are a variety of different sports that can be ideal for a child with ADHD.
An excellent choice for someone with ADHD is team sports. One example of a good sport for a kid with ADHD would be soccer. A lot of running and the need to work together with other teammates is needed to play soccer. In a child that experiences the hyperactivity side of ADHD, a sport that involves running is a great way to burn off the excessive energy.
Another great sport for kids suffering with ADHD is running or track. Again, the idea behind this is that the kids can run and burn off excessive energy. They also do not have to use a lot of concentration in such sports.
An excellent sport for a child who has been diagnosed with ADHD is hockey. Hockey requires a lot of action and is a fast paced game. In the average hockey game, there is very little down time in which the kids need to remain calm and quiet.
Another sport that is good for someone with ADHD is karate. Karate not only gives the child the ability to burn off some of his excess frustrations, it also gives the child the ability to learn discipline and structure. Structure is extremely important in a child with ADHD.
In little kids, t-ball is a poor choice for someone with ADHD. Waiting your turn to bat is extremely hard for any little one. However, if you add in the ADHD factor, it becomes nearly impossible. Once the child is placed in the outfield, his attention will drift off even further, since there is often very little activity out there.
One sport that would be not be a good choice for someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD is golf. The ability to remain calm and quiet throughout the game is needed in golf. This is often a difficult task for a child with ADHD.
Kids with ADHD and sports can go hand in hand with some careful planning. If your son or daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD, it is important that you find a sport that fits with their particular personality. If at first you do not find a sport that is a perfect fit, do not give up hope. Simply try additional sports, until you find the perfect one. Sports give all children, especially those with ADHD, the ability to burn off the excess energy and stress they often carry with them.

Do you know that scuba diving has a great healing to mind, body and soul?
Article by Felice
Water always have a therapeutic effect on human. Come to think of it, 70 percent of the earth is water, 70 percent of your body is fluid. Water is such an important element in our life, second in rank to air in terms of life giving.
Water music always has a soothing effect on the mind and soul. That is why, you find a lot new age music features water as the background for the music. In Feng Shui element, it is good to have a fountain, a waterfall in the house or compound provided it is positioned in the right sector of course.
Now aquariums are a hit with homes and you have aquariums in homes, hotels, restaurants, clinics and even hospitals. In some clinical experiments done in mental hospitals, the use of aquariums have a calming effect on the patients, and it also has an effects on autistic children. Interesting studies but still experimenting stage. More studies should be done in these areas involving water element.
The closest thing I have been is to go to an underwater marine park. How do you feel when you are in the tunnel with the sharks, rays and fishes swimming above you? Great isn’t it and you don’t feel like going out of this world. You feel so relax, so peaceful and free from worry and stress.
This is the very reason, why I am introducing you to the marine life in the seas of Sulu and Celebes. Just at the Eastern side of Sabah, on the northern corner of the third largest island in the world, Borneo, you have great diving sites to see all the rich macro life and great pelagic fishes of the world. Where there are rich macro life, there are also big fishes and you have the best of both world, great beaches to sunbathe in and great waters to explore.
Now, don’t take my words for it but then, I won’t be writing this if it not true either. The late great oceanographer, Jacques Consteau has dived Sipadan and so have so many others famous divers. They can’t be all wrong and a lot of these dive sites are now ranked in the top ten positions in the world and a must see on the wish list of every avid divers.
The underwater world is a completely different landscape. In crystal clear water dive sites such as the one at Sipadan and the surrounding sites, you can see alot of macro life that you do not see on land.
The fans, corals and rocks formation are completely different from the landscape. The colors are a kaleidoscope of a huge range of combination of more than the rainbow colors. You have heard of color therapy and I can understand why divers often came up very relax and calm.
Also, it seems that divers tend to have better observations and this is a good habit to cultivate on land. Divers told me that one has to be extra observant for two reasons. One, if you don’t want to miss the details, especially the macro world, you have to keep your eyes open wide but not shut (like in Tom Cruise’s movie) and be on the alert to observe any movement.
Some of the fishes like crocodilefish, stonefish are master of disguise and if you are not careful, you will missed them. For reason number two, in the underwater world, you must be really observant not to mistake the fish for a stone or coral. Should you accidently step on one or touch on one, you are going to have agony pain and worst, the toxins can be fatal if treatment is not on hand. But the benefits and learning out-weights the dangers and if you are careful diver, it is fun and healthy for your mind and body.
Diving is great for motor co-ordination of the limbs and body. And because water has bouncy, the weight of the body is supported by the water and you feel much less weight in water. This gives you a lot of agility in the water than on land and we find that divers tend to have great fitness. Breathing is great for divers and they have to learn to breathe correctly with the oxygen tank. All in all, scuba diving is great exercise for the body, great for the mind and soul and great for knowledge.

Sports Betting Online-Everything You Need to Know!
Article by Peter H.
Sports betting online is one of the most profitable types of betting out of any kind of betting out there today! When you play poker, bet on the lottery, bet on horse racing, etc?nothing compares to the odds of winning sports betting. You have AT WORST, let me repeat that, AT WORST, a 50% chance of winning each and every game. You can?t find those types of odds anywhere. Now you may be thinking that you can make a profit betting consistently on sports games, but it really is no easy task. If you are not winning at least 75% of your games, you should leave all your picks in the hands of a professional sports handicapper.
There are many professional sports handicappers out there with proven track records. You can find one for an extremely affordable price, so low that 1 win will cover the cost for the ENTIRE month. Also when you do all your sports betting online, it makes it extremely easy to deposit, make your picks, and even cash out. If you have a mobile phone equipped with the internet, almost all sports betting sites allow you to make your picks over your phone! It is extremely easy, convenient, and brings excitement to any sporting event.
Finding the right professional sports handicapper for all your picks will increase your chances of winning from 50% to over 82% each and every game! That is HUGE! You can risk as much money as you want, knowing your picks came from professionals that study the game at least 8 hours a day to come up with the best possible picks. Once you start sports betting online and find that professional sports bettor with a proven track record, you will be making some serious cash. Enough cash to do sports betting online as a living and give up your 9-5 Monday-Friday day job. Once you start winning 82% or more each and every game for a period of 6 months or more, it is safe to say you can give up your day job and bet on sports all day long.
Online sports betting has allowed me to take care of my family, buy a new house, a new car, and live a comfortable life. I have not worked a real job in my life thanks to a professional handicapper I found a few years back. Having odds of 82% or better to win each and every game makes anyone feel good! I now try to average around 0.00 a day in profits, enough for me to live off of! I don?t know what your goal would be per day, but the sky is the limit when it comes to betting on sports. In whatever you decide to do I wish you the best of luck. Sports betting can add excitement and fun to any game and will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout! Please remember, never give up as you have chosen one of the best businesses you could ever get into!

What You Should Know About Scuba Dive Lights

What You Should Know About Scuba Dive Lights
Article by Mike Selvon
Dive lights can be used for night scuba diving, cave diving, or even diving on a rainy, overcast day. An advanced diver knows that sunlight — or your artificial scuba dive lights — will illuminate colors of fish and plant-life, making your trip much more spectacular. You may also encounter cracks or crevices teeming with wildlife that simply can’t be seen without a light source.
Safety recommendations require that every cave diver must have three separate light sources available — one main and two backups — and if one of those should fail for any member of the team, all divers must call off the rest of the expedition.
A wide-beamed primary light will illuminate a large area and is ideal for overcoming total darkness, while a brighter, smaller secondary light will reveal the ocean’s subtleties.
It’s tempting to think that “brighter is better,” but that’s not always the case. If you’re in water that has a lot of suspended particles floating around, then the bright light might illuminate all the wrong things and make it actually more difficult to see.
Underwater photographers won’t want overly bright scuba dive lights either, as it will scare off fish and cause reflective hot spots in the pictures.
The daytime divers might be happy with a basic LED light and cheap 45-minute incandescent bulb. However, underwater photographers, or cave and wreck divers will want a more intense scuba dive lights, like canister lights.
The 10 watt HID torch will give divers as much power as a 35 watt incandescent light and offers 4 hours of dive time on one charge, as well as the ability to use the light outside the water, without melting. These systems can cost as much as 0, but career divers wouldn’t have it any other way.
Typically, people assume that rechargeable batteries are the way to go. However, with scuba dive lights, rechargeable batteries can fade very fast when they start to go.
While you’ll get a more consistent light level from rechargeable batteries, a regular battery will likely last longer. Most divers use rechargeable batteries for daytime dives and regular batteries for nighttime diving (with the daytime light as backup).
Also, when choosing scuba dive lights, be sure they will last at least twice as long as your estimated dive time. Be sure to check the depth rating on them as well, to be sure it will hold up under pressure.
Be sure to purchase a cheap lanyard as the cheapest form of insurance against losing your light. Specialty mask lights are available for divers who want hands-free functionality.
Scuba dive lights are great for cave diving, wreck exploring, coral illuminating and even day time swimming. Lights can be a matter of safety or just personal preference.
You don’t want to bombard wildlife with unnatural lighting, nor do you want to find yourself feeling freaked out and lost underwater in total darkness. Choosing the right light is important, so don’t overlook the basics!

Windsurfing Masts Know Your Stiffness
Posted by Extreme Motion on Jul.04, 2011, under Uncategorized No Comments
Windsurfing Masts Know Your Stiffness
Windsurfing Masts – Know the correct mast for your windsurfing rig. There are many types of masts and they generally come in two types of materials and that is fibreglass and/or carbon fibre. The amount of carbon fibre you have in the mast will depend on the performance that you require. The more carbon you have the more flex and lightness the mast will be making manouvres and waterstarts a load easier. However, the higher the carbon content the more expensive the mast will be possible costing up to £400.
Mast stiffness is based on a scale called the IMCS or the International Mast Check System which measures the flex within a mast depending on the load and the relative length of the mast. The IMCS scale starts at around 19 which is very flexible while the other end of the scale is 30+ which represents a stiff mast.
Fibreglass masts tend to be stiff but will almost have some carbon content in them to give it some flexibility. Lets take a wave mast for instance which needs to be durable due the impact of the waves and the beach. These masts normally have around 40% carbon content which makes it light as well as durable. High end performance masts which are very light and are used for racing tend to have the highest carbon content as much as 80%. This high carbon content is important for mast control in gusty conditions where it flexes quickly under load and returns to its relative position much quicker than a heavier mast with less carbon fibre.
Lighter masts are also usefull for Formula fleet racing where the conditions are often light winds force 3-4 and where dynamic pumping is required to lift the formula board onto the plain. The lighter masts adds a lot of speed, whip and extra power. When you buy your sail, rig manufacturers may recommend the correct mast for that particular sail so you should’nt have to worry about mast stiffness and the IMCS scale. However, in performance windsurfing knowing your stiffness can be a matter of winning or losing the race!
So, when you purchase your rig make sure you have the rigging instructions which will give you the suggested luff (leading edge), mast stiffness and boom length which should be written at the bottom of the sail. This will make tuning your rig a lot easier and hassle free. Then all you have to adjust is the amount of downhaul depending on the conditions, your ability and the style of windsurfing you are about to undertake.

Do we need windsurf lessons to know how to windsurfing?
Article by Leyssens
Well, actually you don’t have to take windsurf lessons in a school. Why not? They give you like 5 – 15 minutes of windsurf theory and then they let you practise on a board and sail for 2 – 3 hours. And what have you actually learned? Only the theory! So you paid 0 for some windsurfing theory and renting of the windsurfing material.
My experience? So I decided to windsurfand not to go to a school. I bought a windsurfingeBook and some windsurf videos. I paid in total €65 = . When I knewthe theory, I wanted to buy some windsurfing material. So I bought all the equipment on ebay for 0.
Conclusion? It is cheaper to buy a windsurfing eBook and some old material on ebay, amazon or any other site. AND you can surf unlimited. I’ve bought this eBook (Look in author box for link). There used to be a dutch one, but I can’t find it anymore on the internet. Now I can windsurf (I do competition) and want to make an eBook (windsurf lessons in dutch) that is with videos, pdf, and powerpoint. And that for only .
But what is windsurfing really?Windsurfing is a surface water sport that combines elements of surfing and sailing. It consists of a board usually two to four meters long, powered by the orthogonal effect of the wind on a sail. The rig is connected to the board by a free-rotating universal joint and comprises a mast, wishbone boom and sail. The sail area ranges from less than 3.0 m2 to more than 12 m2 depending on the conditions, the skill of the sailor and the type of windsurfing being undertaken.
At one time referred to as “surfing’s ginger haired cousin” by the sport’s legendary champion, Robby Naish,[1] windsurfing has long struggled to present a coherent image of the sport to outsiders. Indeed, participants will regularly use different names to describe the sport, including sailboarding and boardsailing. Despite the term “Windsurfing” becoming the accepted name for the sport, participants are still called “sailors” or “board heads” and not “surfers”.

So, you want to scuba dive? What to know before you start scuba diving.
Article by Bubble Addict
The earth is unique. it is the only planet in our solar system that can support carbon-based life, or life as we know it. The water covers more than two thirds of this planet, and is home to a huge part of its life. Unfortunately we know more about what happens on the surface of Mars, than in the depths of our oceans.
In fact the earth has so much water on it that we might as well refer to it as the water planet. However, vast tracts of this underwater world look much as the surface of Mars does. Barren and lifeless. While there are abyssal and pelagic forms of life in the oceans, the distances are so vast, and the oceans so deep that one does not often run across them. Luckily, the earth has oases of life in the shallower depths – coral reefs. These tropical reefs are an explosion of life and colour that leaves one breathless with their diversity and beauty.
For centuries people have made their living from these reefs, fishing from shore, or collecting shellfish. Then braver souls ventured into the water with spears, and spear hunting was born. Free diving for lobsters, crayfish or oysters and other shellfish is a strenuous and sometimes arduous activity. You also have very little time to observe and interact with the various forms of marine life. In order to be able to fully experience the rich variety of life under the surface of the water you need to be able to stay down for an appreciable amount of time.
A Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, or SCUBA allows you to stay down for longer periods and interact more naturally with the environment. Instead of being an intruder you become a guest in the underwater world.
Getting yourself certified as a scuba diver is a rewarding achievement that is accessible to anyone of average ability. No longer do we need to be super fit strong swimmers to be able to enjoy scuba diving. Being able to swim and stay afloat for a minimum period of time is sufficient for the recreational diver. As long as there are no medical contra-indications anyone should be able to scuba. Age is really of no concern, as long as we match our physical abilities to our level of exertion.
When we scuba dive we enter a liquid realm where the rules of gravity are, if not temporarily suspended, at least subtly different. Learning to move and operate in this environment is as important to the scuba diver as learning to walk is to the new-born, and therefore the choice of school and instructor is of paramount importance to having a long and successful scuba diving career.
Remember though, an Open Water Diver Certification is only your first step into a rich and rewarding pastime. Further training will allow you to explore this fascinating pastime more fully, and could even turn it into a profitable career.
