Alpinestars Motocross Boots – Quality Over Price
Article by Ride MX
Riding MX can be an extremely dangerous sport, so it is essential that riders wear the equipment offering the highest protection. Unfortunately, like most things in life, consumers really do get what they pay for. That being said, the likes of Alpinestars motocross boots really do offer great value for money.
Over the last few years, a range of smaller, lesser known brands have made an entry to the market. They offer products for ?50-100, but lets face it, they really do not offer the protection that serious motocross riders really need.
On the other hand, Alpinestars Motocross boots over products from as little as £120 (for kids) right through to £400+. The development of their products over the years means they do not just offer products of excellent function, but they are also extremely fashionable as well.
So what boots do they offer?
Let us start with their most popular and newest creation, the Tech 10 boot. Retailing at over £400, they certainly do not come cheap, but they offer a range of excellent features. They have replaceable parts, places to insert graphics and they are strong, yet extremely flexible.
Before the Tech 10s were in production, the most popular boot was the Tech 8. These are built on a more substantial basis, so they do tend to last a lot longer. This being said they are not as flexible as the Tech 10s. Retailing at just over £300, they offer great value for money.
Some other popular boots include the likes of the Tech 7, Tech 3 and Tech 2 (mainly used for mini bikes). The likes of boots, helmets and body armour are the most important protective pieces of equipment, so it is advisable to allocate a fairly large budget. When looking at a boot, always compare them to the likes of Alpinestars Motocross Boots, as it is likely that they are of much inferior quality.

How To Prepare For A Motocross Race

How To Prepare For A Motocross Race
Physically
Before you go to a race you must first be a physical shape. This means that you should be able to at least complete the required laps without slowing down or getting lazy. By doing that you must be exercising and working out almost everyday. This doesn’t mean it has to be intense training, but it does require some effort. A good workout would be going for a long or fast bike ride that requires more strength and gets your heart pumping faster. Swimming is also great because it works every muscle in the body. Running helps a lot too if you have the time to do that. And of course, there is always riding your dirt bike that will help. The more you ride that the longer you should be able to last during a moto. Practicing in the heat can be difficult, but it will be an advantage in those longer motos when the heat starts getting to the riders. Working out is good, but if you it too much to the point that you are sore for more than a day after doing so and continue to work-out, then it does not help you. In fact, it’s bad for you because you don’t let your muscles heal from working before. So I suggest that you find a good routine that gets you working harder, such as going to a gym if you have the time, running, swimming, or riding your bike.
Mentally
Now many people don’t realize it, but being mentally strong for a race is just about as important as being physically strong. You have to have confidence in yourself to race at your full potential. Getting nervous right before the race is a very common thing for pretty much every racer, but that’s because we are all human. You must be able to focus and block out all other things before the gate drops. If you are thinking about what’s going to happen, what you’re going to eat after the race, or whose in the stands watching, then those are going to distract the entire race if you can’t get them out of your head. The goal for me is to not think about anything except what to do when the gate drops. My mind should be on the hole-shot and getting the that first corner ahead of everyone else. If you are both physically and mentally strong, then you are more than likely a step ahead of your competitors. Good luck, and have fun racing!

motocross helmets
Article by Quinton Alderman
There are several cheap helmets on the market that provide adequate protection, but don’t cost a ton. I’m not asking you to pick up a pink motorcycle helmet just because it’s listed at a discounted price, but it is reasonable to choose a cheap motocross helmet that does the trick. The trick being, keeping you safe. Whether you’re after full face helmets or motorcycle half helmets, cheap helmets come in all different styles and colors. Shoei Helmet designs have come a long way. For the longest time shoei motorcycle helmet companies did not think about aesthetics when designing their helmets, but would simply design them for strength and safety only. Thanks to an increase in motorcycle ridership and an outcry for a greater selection of mx helmets, there is not a wide variety helmets in all shapes, styles and colors to choose from. You don’t have to worry about looking like a nerd, or uncool when riding your motorcycle again. In fact, many motorcycle riders take great pride in choosing and wearing their offroad helmets. Color, style and shape all play important factors. With such a huge selection it can be a bit overwhelming. There are plenty of full face helmets for sale that might look a little gaudy at first or may seem like they don’t fit correctly. Some cheap offroad helmet visors get in the way of your vision or sometimes if you’re stuck rocking a shoei helmet on a piece of crap bike, you might look a little funny to the other riders. HJC helmets are another brand that are considered to be the best. One of the most important aspects to the helmet besides its protective casing is the chin strap. Many people just throw their helmets on and forget or don’t bother to secure their chin strap. Without the chin strap secured most, if not all, of the protective benefits of the cheap helmet are eliminated so make sure to keep that chin strap tight. Also, making sure the full face helmets you’re wearing is properly worn, also means that your Shoei helmet visors won’t be obstructing your view. Motorcycle half helmets are another popular choice, providing ample protection without the weight of others helmets for sale on the market. Full face helmet options are out there for those who would like complete coverage. There are many different styles of helmets but the most common are full face helmets, off-road/motocross and modular. The full face helmet is just as it sounds it is a helmet that covers the entire head and includes a protective plastic face shield that can be opened or closed. Motorcycle half helmets do provide protection for your cranium, but not your face; none whatsoever. Bell helmets are known to make some of the best looking bell helmets for sale today. Another brand that is immensely popular is Shoei motorcycle helmet. Being in the industry for decades, this manufacturer has earned its respect over the year. The second type of cheap helmet is off-road/motorcross. These helmets are different in that they often have a visor to shade the wearer’s vision as well as a partially open face protector to allow the rider to wear goggles while riding. Many professional motorcross riders wear these off-road helmets because they have a powerful chin bar protector to provide facial impact protection as well as because they have a sleek, aerodynamic style to give the rider the fastest performance possible. The modular motorcycle helmet, also called a flip-up helmet, is a mix between a full face and an open face helmet. These helmets for sale allow for the chin bar to be removed completely as well as also allowing for the protective plastic visor to be flipped up and sometimes also removed. These helmets allow for a lot more customization in accordance to how the rider would like to wear their helmet. If they are not racing or driving face maybe they would like to remove the chin strap and visor to let the air in and free their vision, or if they are racing they can put them back on. A shoei helmet is a good choice and so are bell helmets, as they both have the function aspect covered but always have aggressive and recognizable style. Motorcycle half helmets don’t cover as much of your head and keep your skull as protected as some of the full face helmets, but you will see a lot of riders with these on the street. Usually on off-road courses people stick with bell motorcycle helmets, shoei motorcycle helmets or something with a good reputation. There are several favorites out there, but you should at least wear something. You don’t necessarily have to get Bell motorcycle helmets to be accepted in the street. With so many varieties of cheap motorcycle helmets there really is no excuse not to wear one whenever you ride. They all have to meet a certain set of criteria to be DOT approved. And besides that, you want be safe when you’re cruising down the road @ 80mph. Even motorcycle half helmets keep your protected. While some believe that the full face helmets are the only way to go, the full face motorcycle helmet is just as worthy as any other one on the market
